November 13, Morning Session

Session 8:15 a.m. to Noon

Seminar Description:
Each day we are bombarded with images and sounds of negativity, despair, desperation. These images and sounds come in the form of the newspapers, television, online, driving down the street, talking on the phone, and even interacting with customers on a daily basis. The cumulative affect of these sounds and images can cause us to be more stressed out on a daily basis.
This half day class will provide you with an overview of the difference between stress, burnout, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma, detail warning signs, and provide tips, ideas and practice for addressing and taking care of yourself.
- Describe the difference between vicarious trauma, burnout, and compassion fatigue;
- Define vicarious trauma and the warning signs; and
- Explain the ABC’s of taking care of yourself.
